Marvel today released a teaser trailer for the upcoming Daredevil series coming to Netflix this April. The trailer shows Boardwalk Empire’s Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, speaking with a priest in a confession booth as a tease of the events to come in the series unfolds. The trailer shows off Murdock’s beginnings as Daredevil, donning a black suit and head wrap akin to Frank Miller’s “The Man without Fear” run in the comic series. There are glimpses of Daredevil’s abilities, as well as his sloppy beginnings as a vigilante in Hell’s Kitchen. We also see glimpses of the other characters in the series, such as Matt Murdock’s partner Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), nurse Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), Daredevil’s mentor “Stick” (The Leftovers‘ Scott Glen), as well as the figure of Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin played by Vincent D’Onofrio.
The Marvel series is one of several coming to Netflix, along with AKA Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, which will eventually lead into a series based on the Defenders superhero group.
Daredevil comes to Netflix on April 10.
